Body length approximately 1 to 2 meters. Distributed in the warm waters of the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans, and is occasionally caught in fishing in Japan. It has a peculiar habit of having an ink sac below its swim bladder and ejecting an ink-like liquid from its anus.
